As an apt segue from Mothers Day yesterday….it’s only human to enjoy a little reward for your efforts.
This may come as somewhat of a surprise, but us scientists are human too.
After 3 years of planning and resourcing a series of experiments, there’s nothing we like more than a positive result.
This is why blinded research is so valuable. It gives the research the chance to ‘speak for itself’, so that the actual result is what shines through, not what we hope the result will be.
The importance of blinding in scientific research is covered in TechNyou‘s latest short, sharp ‘n’ shiny animation This Thing Called Science Part 3: Blinded by science (produced by Bridge8).
